Glasgow Golf Union Junior Stroke & Match Play Championships 2025- played at Bishopbriggs Golf Club.

The Scratch competition was won by Cameron Burns. Glasgow GC, with a splendid 2 under par 69 to lead the field home by
six strokes.

Friday the 1st of August at Bishopbriggs saw the semi-final and final matches of the Match Play Championship take place.
The first morning game saw Cameron beating Reece Coyle of Ralston G C 3&2. In the second match Max Welsh of Cathkin Braes G C won by 1 hole against Scott Craig of Cawder G C by virtue of a birdie on the 18th to ease into the final.
The final produced some great golf by Cameron, who maintained the form he showed in winning the Stroke Play Championship, by beating a gallant Max Welsh convincingly in the final match to complete a rare double of winning both major Boys Championships in the same year, matched only by Sam Somerville in 2023 also of Glasgow Golf Club.  All the games were played with a great spirit which was a credit to all of those involved.

Lorna McClymont, Millngavie G C is the first Lady to play in the Donald Cameron League having done so at Bearsden G.
This was Lorna's first game for the
Milngavie D C L Team the Date - Wed 2nd June 2021 in which she played in game 6 against Gary McBain, Result Gary won 3 & 1.
Lorna McClymont, in May 2024 won the Scottish Women’s Amateur championship, having used the disappointment of coming close two years ago as a spur to victory.

The Scotland international deservedly lifted the silver trophy after a 5&3 victory in the final against Royal Troon’s Freya Russell.
