Douglas Park GC  v   Sandyhills GCOn a cloudy calm day, perfect for golf, Douglas Park GC looked in perfect condition for the rearranged and final gameof season 2025, Sandyhills GC go into the game needing a result of 8-0 towin the league or 7.5 -0.5 to take the game into a play off decider against Glasgow GC, a big ask, especially with Douglas Park in no mood to allow avisiting team to celebrate on their patch.
As the games progressed past the 10th hole, Sandyhills were up in 6 games with 2 games all square, could the impossible be about to happen, though the 6 games were in Sandyhills favour, they were all close. The first game arrived at the 17th hole all square to be followed by game 2 and game 3 with the same result, game 1 went in favour of Sandyhills with Game 2 ending all square, so the best Sandyhills could hope for now is to take the game to a play off for the title, games 4, 5,6,7 and 8 were all up, but game 3 needed to half the last to keep the league challenge alive, unfortunately it was a result too much to askfor. The final result was Douglas Park GC 1, Sandyhills GC 7, with all Sandyhills players contributing to the score. Congratulations to Glasgow GC on winning their 5th title in a row.
